Great Gardens – Great People!

Kathy Jentz from Washington Gardener Magazine and yours truly at the Urban Homestead in Pasadena, where the Dervaes family has been farming their 1/5 of an acre for 30 years – harvesting over 6000 pounds of veg annually!

Love my job!  Hanging with plant people at the 67th Annual Garden Writers Symposium in Pasadena this week.  I’ve had Flowers On My Head with Mud Baron, explored Colorado Blvd and the LA Arboretum with Doug Oster, hunted down the Urban Homestead with Kathy Jentz and been inspired by numerous other garden-driven people whose whole mission in life is to get you outside and digging.  The garden tours are just gravy after that.  Damn good gravy. No doubt I’ll wax poetic in a future post, but in the meantime – check out the Facebook page for many more photos.
